After 30 years of experience in design and building gears which are ready for hybrid drive, we can summarize the following about the use of the REINTJES hybrid systems, combined with diesel-fueled engines: In most cases the level of the exhausted emissions is not significantly reduced, the prognosed fuel consumption saving often cannot be reached and therefore the over-all-efficiency is still at a comparable level to a conventional propulsion system.
